gumball poem #1

There isn't a train I wouldn't take,
No matter where it's going.

Edna St. Vincent Millay

at the continental divide
or thereabouts
they do very different things
hither and yon
K or W

rivers flow west
or east
where your friends are

gumball poem #2

whether all the trails be sung
or not is matter for our song
it isn't likely we've to tell to
anyone what the difference is

the singing sung or left undone
is better left to critics one
by one or twos or threes to say
'twere wiser than to sit or sigh

gumball poem #3

the tenantry could have risen
in a jet pack
to the stratosphere's
thin regime
or it might have counted what it have
or haven't (come what may)
and so devised its comeuppance
but there's my so story
and mere fiction

gumball poem #4

the foremost teller
has a knack
of guiding your two hands
to the safe and rebuking them
if they should in withdrawal
clench any money
in the going concern's
going concern

gumball poem #5

if a wispy hint of a shock
would regulate the clock
whither wings the robot mynah
not for all the toys in China
