Mirrors, Sins, and Rivers -- Considerations at the New Year

There are two things to flee and fear:
rivers and mirrors.
One or the other is always approaching cat-fast, oncoming hard and silent.
There is no mercy in either of them.
Escape is impossible.
Rivers seize all
transforming the drowned with the deliberateness of fictions of sins.
The lying mirror is ken to transformation by water.
I can't recognize the man under the glass or the one underwater.
In his changing he is unchanging,
He remains behind his mask of mirrors
Until taken by the corrosion of water.
